Programs for Professionals
Ongoing education is the key to excellence in hospice palliative care. Coordinated with other health care organizations and individuals, our programs for professionals focus on enhancing skills and knowledge.
The Dorothy Ley Hospice recognizes the importance of sharing knowledge with members of the community regarding hospice palliative care. We offer a variety of workshops, lectures and information sessions to provide learning opportunities for the family members of individuals living with a life-limiting illness, caregivers, volunteers, general public, businesses and groups in the community.
Palliative Pain & Symptom Management Consulting
The Palliative Pain & Symptom Management Consultation Service (PPSMCS) for Toronto is a resource for health care professionals who provide service to home care agencies, long-term care homes, community support services and Primary Care. Services include referrals, education and consultations, materials & tools and palliative case conferencing. The Dorothy Ley Hospice has been selected by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care as the sponsoring agency for the administration and delivery of the PPSMCS for the City of Toronto.
